Globalstar launches prepaid satellite phone service

Dublin, Ireland,

Globalstar, representing the European satellite services, the leading provider of mobile satellite voice and data services, began its new prepaid service in the Mena region and Europe.

Services are provided without a contract, taking into account seasonal and casual users such as fishermen, workers on elimination of emergency situations, the owners of pleasure boats, workers of the oil and gas industries, to be able to use this service all year round, is reported by the operator.

Prepaid accounts can be divided into 10 different name of cards, five staff members and five separate prepaid cards. Divided prepaid service makes every handset in Globalstar satellite ‘phone booth,’ said the operator. These features patented by Qualcomm due to the use of CDMA technology.

Jay Monroe, President and Chief administrator Globalstar, said: “With the launch of our prepaid service, especially separated prepaid service, we are introducing a completely new user group for satellite telephony".

Cards are available in denominations of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 minutes.
